Perched on a steeply sloping hill in West Seattle, this house looks out over the Duwamish Waterway and the industrial factories below. On the other side, the house faces a heavily forested landscape to help block some of the intense southwestern sun. The house features two main living levels with a garage and workspace below. The two main levels were designed for the future incorporation of lofts to accommodate the changing needs of the owner. The main design element of the top floor is a double height rolling garage door that will completely open the space up to the atmosphere and activity of the environment below.
